Until December 1976, Christine Piff's life centred largely around her husband, Chris, and their three children, Claire, Matthew and Dominic. Born in Stone, Staffordshire, she trained as a nursery nurse before her marriage in 1962, and after her own children had gone to school, she began to work at a local play school.
